How to Grow and Build Your Faith in Jesus.

Here are TWO WAYS TO GROW YOUR FAITH

If you are looking to build and grow in faith, then it means that you already have a certain level of faith resident in you. We thank God that you have come to hunger Him and I pray that you receive inspiration as you study this post.. The bible states that those who hunger for righteousness shall be filled with righteousness.

There are different forms of faith in christendom. The first faith that every Christian encounters is the faith associated with salvation. In this kind of faith, a non believer agrees and believes that there is God/trinity and that the way to God is through Jesus who died for our sins(John 1 : 12).

There is another kind of faith- the faith that is needed to have dominion in Christ. Most Christians do not have this second kind of faith because of their lack of spiritual awareness and that is why they wallow in and out of sin. That is why they still accommodate idolatry. These ones are still babies in Christianity irrespective of their age and can easily be deceived to join the kingdom of darkness. This is the type of faith that we are discussing today. But before I start, consistency is the keyword here.

Personal Bible study

Coming into Christianity is not just a physical phenomenon but also a spiritual activity. We have been initiated into the kingdom of God, although we are still earthly. No wonder the bible says that we are in the world but not of the world (John 17:16). In order to grow in faith we need to study our kingdom and this requires personal study time.

There are several ways to study the bible, but if you are fairly new to the light, then start from Genesis, take each chapter every day, jot down your lessons, your confusions, your questions and give some time to ponder upon them. For instance, I am currently in the book of Ist Kings and I started sometime in February.

When we embark on this journey, God takes us on a unique experience into the knowledge of his nature and his kingdom. Personally, it seemed boring at first, but overtime God opened my eyes up. The word becomes alive such that a scripture that I am 100% sure that I have read in the past seems different, and fresh.

In the beginning studying The Word might be boring, but do not stop and do not be in a hurry to finish. Take one chapter for each day. I noticed that a few months ago God opened my inner eyes, such that sometimes during meditation of the bible study, I would fall into deep sleep and get spiritual revelations.

From experience, I can say that revelation comes with consistency. In studying God’s word, he opens Himself up to you. I have had times when I just hear a word from God during bible study. Sometimes it is in no way related to my study for the day. I want to conclude by saying that there was a time I missed bible study for over 2 or 3 days and kept postponing it to the next morning.

I remember that on a beautiful Thursday afternoon, I decided that I would study it instead of waiting till morning, which was my usual time. Immediately I started the study, I heard God clearly say- “A broom is useless without the hand that sweeps it”. I quickly repented and continued my study. Nowadays, If I am going to miss a bible study, I simply pray and tell God the situation. Now I can say in all humility, that where I am right now spiritually, (November 2024) is far greater than where I was in February. If you sincerely want to grow your faith. Meditate on a bible chapter every day(Joshua 1: 8).

Prayer altar: Prayer is a physical and spiritual exercise. Prayer is the food of the spirit and in order to build your faith, you need to pray consistently. An altar is a place of sacrifice, a place of communion and interaction between a spirit and its servant/priests. A prayer altar is a place where the servant/priest offers sacrifices of prayer, the priest communes with God during this time. Psalm 50: 5

A prayer altar can not be overemphasized in the life of every christian. If you want to learn how to enter into a covenant with God, please raise a prayer altar. I became enthusiastic about what a prayer altar is, such that I started a 7 day midnight prayer challenge which I have not ended yet. I have experienced different kinds of breakthroughs. It is a sacrifice that I make to keep my altar burning, please offer your bodies a living sacrifice. Living sacrifice means that the fire in the altar never stops burning. In physical altars, someone always goes in and puts in some firewood regularly to keep it burning.

You need to regularly engage in prayer and God will reveal things to you. I just don't know how to say this but I have experienced God do wonders just because of my commitment to my prayer altar. The strength you have as a Christian comes from the amount of time you spend in prayer. Personally, I never felt the need to pray, but after I started my work with God, I often prayed when I felt it.

Right now, I pray because it is an obligation that is not dependent on feelings and emotions, I pray because I need strength to fight witches and evil powers, I pray because I need to remain under the shadow of God. I cannot afford to be outside the shadow of the almighty, because the devil will make a mess of me. In order to grow in faith you need to build a prayer altar. If by now you do not speak in tongues, pray and ask God to help you. This is because it is almost impossible to pray in your language for a long period of time. The bible says that those who hunger for righteousness shall be filled.

In conclusion, growing your faith requires both personal Bible study and establishing a prayer altar. Consistent engagement with Scripture deepens your understanding of God's nature, while dedicated prayer fosters a powerful connection with Him. Together, these practices not only strengthen your faith but also enhance your spiritual awareness and ability to navigate life's challenges.
